Retail Control Systems, Cegid partner to move retailers to unified commerce

Published 19 May 2017

Retail Control Systems (RCS), a retail technology solutions provider, has partnered with Cegid, a provider of cloud services and retail software.

Together, the organizations deliver capabilities retailers need to support today's shopping habits, including buy online and pickup in-store, shop from store, reserve online and pay in store and ship-to-home.

With increasingly mobile and digital lives, consumers are researching online and purchasing offline, accessing online reviews, and turning to social networks to shop on their terms.

However, retailers are having a hard time adapting to this new standard because their traditional point-of-sale systems were not built to meet elevated shopping demands.

"Cegid helps retailers adapt to the digital age, offering a full suite of retail enterprise software and cloud services for both head office and stores," says Dan Friedman, COO, Americas, Cegid.

"Much of our focus lies in omnichannel retailing, including POS and store management, inventory and replenishment, mobile POS, clienteling, CRM and loyalty, as well as business intelligence – all within a single, centralized database that works in real-time."

As part of their training and orientation, two members of the RCS leadership team,Kevin Albert, COO, and Jill Bujnowski, CFO, recently attended the CegidConnections Conference in Budapest, Hungary. The event gathered 450 retailers and partners from around the world. The team gained insight into the future of retail and was excited to meet other partners to learn about their success with Cegid.

The RCS team was eager to learn about Cegid's retail portfolio, called Yourcegid Retail Y2. The platform is a proven omni-channel and customer-centered solution designed to deliver a remarkable customer experience. It comes with an intuitive user interface for click-and-collect, ship to store, ship to home, and cash and carry transactions, among other new features.

"Our integration as a Cegid VAR has been seamless. The resources Cegid provides – from marketing, sales and services tools to staff expertise – are outstanding and have allowed us to get started quickly. The team is extremely responsive to our needs and we feel like a truly valued partner," remarks Jill.

"We consider business partners as a direct extension of the Cegid business and our focus is therefore on recruiting the right type of partners. It's all about quality, not quantity, and this is where RCS comes in," says Dan Friedman, COO, Americas, Cegid.

Retail Control Systems believes that combining its extensive retail expertise from the last 30 years with Cegid's software will contribute to tremendous success. "RCS is excited for the opportunity to partner with Cegid. We believe it's on the forefront of retail technology and RCS can't wait to be a part of that," states Dave Albert, CEO, RCS. "We were very impressed to see Cegid not only on the Retail Information Systems (RIS) Software Leaderboard, but the highest ranking for 2016. This bodes well for the future."
