At Home Group continues Detroit-area expansion

Published 01 December 2017

US-based retailer At Home Group has expanded its presence in Detroit with a new store in Troy at 200 W. Fourteen Mile Road next to the Oakland Mall.

The new 88,000-square-foot store offers over 50,000 home décor items for any budget or style. Products include furniture, mirrors, rugs, art, housewares, tabletop, patio and seasonal items. For the holidays, At Home features more than 100 different varieties of artificial Christmas trees, indoor and outdoor decorations, themed ornaments and accessories for entertaining.

"We see huge potential in the Detroit-area and in Michigan overall as we continue our national expansion strategy," said At Home Chairman and CEO Lee Bird.

"We offer all the styles people want at the lowest prices, and that resonates with customers – especially as we head into the holiday season when people are focusing on sprucing up their homes for guests, entertaining and decorating for the holidays. We have everything they need."

Opening events include a ribbon-cutting at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 8, with the Troy Chamber of Commerce, followed by a grand opening celebration Saturday, Dec. 9, beginning at 8 a.m., with mystery gift card giveaways valued at $20-$200 for the first 50 people in line.

This year At Home plans to open 28 new stores across the nation. Each location brings 25 jobs to the area.
